School's out for summer and the real fun is just beginning at Australia Zoo!

For us, the hottest time of the year means one thing – MAJOR reptile action! Snakes, lizards, tortoises, turtles… it’s time for our scaly, slithery friends to come out of hibernation and go nuts. The heat is on Down Under, and the most exciting effect of this sizzling season is definitely the one it has on Australia’s amazing apex predators, the CROCODILES! Our Saltwater Crocs are launching into summer with a vengeance this year, and Zoo Keepers for a Day will have the chance to be right on the frontline for all of the reptile action. Feeding the giant tortoises, handling our HUGE Burmese Pythons, getting friendly with an iguana – our miniature zoo keepers will do it all, PLUS some awesome interaction with otters, elephants, kangaroos, possums and more.

From parrots and emus to snakes and tortoises, these Easter school holidays are the time to meet the world’s best egg-layers, and even more amazing wildlife. You’ll enjoy plenty of behind-the-scenes insight and hands-on encounters with giant tortoises, HUGE snakes, beautiful birds, kangaroos, elephants, possums, otters and more! When spring arrives at Australia Zoo, the animals go into a feeding frenzy! Join us to help satisfy their appetites by signing up to be a part of our Zoo Keeper for a Day ‘Spring Feeding Frenzy’ program during the September school holidays. Wooo-hoo!

We’ve got more behind-the-scenes fun than you can poke a stick at, with plenty of hands-on interaction and opportunities to really get to know our animals through the hand-feeding process. Whether it’s providing delicious insect paste for the spiky little echidnas and their loooooong tongues, catering a buffet breakfast for the colourful birds in the Rainforest Aviary or giving fresh fruit and vegetables to our three gorgeous Asian Elephants, our zoo keepers-in-training will never forget this unique and unbeatable experience! There are plenty of fun feeding experiences that include the cheeky Asian Small-clawed Otters, kangaroos, possums, giant tortoises and more. Our animal experts will be there every step of the way to ensure you get the most out of your day of discovery.
